The mobile explosion is happening and we are right in the middle of it. We live during an amazing time for growing technology where new features, new devices and new solutions are always coming from around the corner. As this technology becomes a prevalent part of our lives, both personal and professional, the tools that these mobile devices provide play a key role in the productivity of our daily tasks. Have you ever wondered how many times that you have checked your phone today? You’d be surprised but the average person checks their phone at about 100 times a day. Some may even refer to their mobile device as their second heartbeat. Can’t live without it right? We have become so reliant on our mobile devices that they have become tools that we need to do our jobs.

As mobile technology has been placed everywhere in the workforce, how will you or your company manage these devices in your environment(s)? Sensitive company data can easily travel to consumer devices that you or your employees bring from home. So how do you manage the company data? One solution may be to just provide a corporate device per employee. Which sounds great and all but do you have a budget to buy 500 new devices for each employee? Utilizing the resources that are already there may be a viable solution for you. But another challenge is several different OS platforms to manage. How are you going to manage those? Look no further, because we have the solution here at Wavelink.

One of the great ways to manage is with MDM software that not only allows you to manage devices company-wide, but also down to the details of the applications that are running on these devices.

Mobile technology is (in my opinion) still in its infant stage. There is so much more about this technology that is going to grow and change. But as the mobile technology changes, so does the ability to manage it. So in helping you with your preparations for managing new mobile, I found this cool article on LinkedIn about 4 Predictions for the Next 40 Years in Mobile. Knowing or being aware of what is on the forefront of mobile will help you in planning your future decisions. 40 years isn’t that far off, but why not plan for the next 10?

In my own preparations for the “Future”, I have made a checklist of items that I will:

  • Foil suit
  • Space suit
  • Hover board
  • Deloreon (Special flying model)
  • Mobile Device

Ok, maybe that isn’t the real list, but mobile device will definitely be on there. However, if you do have about 6 more minutes, I also found this pretty cool video of what the future “may” look like. Check it out.

Like I said, mobile technology isn’t going anywhere, if anything, it looks like it is going to be everywhere. So welcome to the future.  How are you going to prepare to manage these devices? What are your predictions? Let us know by commenting below.

Thanks for reading.
